Jeff Horton, of Duluth Minnesota, is a passionate educator currently serving as Superintendent of the GFW Public Schools. From the beginning of his career, Jeff has consistently pursued new and creative methods of making learning a more enjoyable experience for all involved, regardless of their background, level of experience, or even level of interest in a given topic. This dedication has resulted in integrating several proven educational techniques into the classrooms at Jeff’s schools, including adding updated technological elements to bridge the educational gap and make information more easily accessible to every student.

Jeff had his first taste of teaching while coaching high school hockey players alongside his brother in high school. He worked with them to help them practice the movements and perfect their talents, and when the team met their opponents, they tied the game. They won their next game after the whole squad devoted their time and concentration to bettering themselves individually and as a unit. Jeff Horton, DWI recognized how much he enjoyed dealing with children, assisting them in reaching their full potential, and encouraging them to achieve while enjoying their win with them. He learned pretty quickly that the appeal of teaching wasn’t only about the coaching or the opportunity to share his expertise with others. It was about the satisfaction he had when he helped someone accomplish something.
